I found that your interpretation of Violet Hill was a bit off , and to call him a Prophet or Messiah , means that you surely do not read your Good Book , or are making a mockery of it.
Yes his music holds alot of truth with his faith in God , but to interpret Violet Hill , and call him a prophet is hypocritical , Have you read the book of Mark Chapter 13 in the New Testament? It is all right there , no metaphor needed. Unless the Bible is not your beleif.
I am a fan to the fullest of Coldplay and agree he is a brilliant writer , but I don’t think he would want to be called a false prophet , and I beleive he may have tried to express that as he says I don’t want to be the captain of some sinking ship!
I cannot speak for him , but if you are interested , I have my own interpretation , which seems pretty clear.

But as for metaphor in Mark 13, Jesus seems to need to use it, unless you think he was literally giving tips on growing fig trees!
And I agree - Chris Martin would not want to be called a false prophet - because he is the true one! The sinking ship is the world of Christian, capitalist values, which Chris shall replace with Fair Trade and the Church of Chris Martin. Amen!

First of all I want you to know thatI am giving you My opinion , and not judging! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion!! and as far as using the term metaphor , I used the wrong word , and I know that The Bible has many metaphors , so my apologies about that. I said our ineterpretations are a bit off , but their are similarities……I just don’t beleive that he is hte Messiah , because there is only one , and that is ( in my mind , Jesus , The Christ!) but , to each his own…My Interpretation…

the corrupt priest preaching of fire and brimstone for the purpose of controlling a population and not the soul purpose of Preaching the true teaching of living a humble life , and beleiving in God , and trying to live true according to those teachings , for I do not beleive that their was any intent that Christ walked the earth to instill fear , but kindness and awareness

well , I am very liberal with my beleif , so don’t take my interpretation as me being involved in the corruption that is killing our worls , and I have no issues with your right to excersise your beleif.. I do hopt that my interpretation made some sense , regardless of our beleifs on the true Messiah. but thank you for what I tool as a compliment , of sorts.

seriously, his fav book is The Da Vinci Code? that was the worst book ever! But since this is a religion (that I obviously need to convert to) and Chris is Messiah, I will just have to love the Da Vinci Code anyway, and not question Messiahs opinions.

you know i read that violet hill was a political protest song. & it makes so much sense as a political protest song. idk how you guys thought God was incorporated in it. i think i have a completely different interpretation than you guys
