Speed of Sound
‘Speed of Sound’ is Chris Martin’s Revelation, like St Paul in the Old Testament when he had the Apocalypse. The song starts with a person alone, looking for more, perhaps dreaming of stardom…
How long before I get in?
Before it starts, before I begin?

Moses revelation came up a mountain, and so did Mohammad’s.
Look up, I look up at night -
Planets are moving at the speed of light
Climb up, up in the trees -
Every chance that you get is a chance you seize.
Evolution?
How long am I gonna stand
With my head stuck under the sand?
I start before I can stop or
Before I see things the right way up?
Then the vision comes, a rush of sensations -
All that noise and all that sound,
All those places I have found,
He suddenly understands, yet cannot communicate it clearly to us. Unless we’ve had the experience ourselves, we cannot hope to understand what is beyond words -
And birds go flying at the speed of sound
To show you how it all began,
This is not really true - its impossible! Its a simile.

A sign that I couldn’t read,
or a light that I couldn’t see.
Some things you have to believe,
When others are puzzles, puzzling me…
Some aspects of the vision remain unfathomable, despite the feeling of truth he gets from it -

The image of the bird is the Holy Spirit, which is traditionally portrayed as a dove in religious art (picture the dove from the story of Noah’s Ark). The bird is the Holy Spirit, a message from the underground (his Subconscious mind)who tell him how his fame began - because he is a prophet!

All those signs I knew what they meant,
Somethings you can’t invent -
Like Chocolate shoes or a sure-fire money-making idea or a cure for head cancer
Some get made, and some get sent - wah oo!
Some of us get born (made), but some are sent from above to carry God’s message to the world. Like Chris Martin, Jesus or David Icke etc etc.
Earth’s gone flying at the speed of sound,
To show you how it all began.

I hope this illuminates you all, and if you don’t get it yet…

This is absurd. St paul has nothing to do with the apocalypse besides it all happened in the new testament.
